Why he matters
Lindblad is the most-hyped Red Bull junior since Max Verstappen. Helmut Marko, Red Bull’s driver advisor, fast-tracked him through F4, F3, and F2 — Lindblad won the latter in 2025, his first season at the level. The Racing Bulls seat is a one-year audition; if he impresses, he’s the obvious candidate to replace whoever doesn’t make it at the senior team.
How he drives
Quick everywhere, but the calling card is qualifying. His F2 pole laps in 2025 had a smoothness usually reserved for established F1 drivers. The open question — same as for any rookie — is how he handles a long F1 race after a tough Saturday.
Watch for
- His head-to-head qualifying record against teammate Liam Lawson — that’s the only metric Red Bull will look at.
- His Friday practice sessions — Lindblad is one of the few rookies who can be expected to deliver clean long-runs immediately.
- His radio voice — calmly, almost flatly chatty for a rookie, similar to Antonelli.
